Alternator + solar charging.
Charger 2 combines alternator and solar sources for compatible power-station charging. BLUETTI’s FAQ identifies up to 800W from the alternator and up to 600W from solar, with combined output capped at 1,200W. Those are distinct ceilings, not a 1,400W combined promise.
What to check before buying
Separate the driving and parked scenarios. A hypothetical two hours at a measured 500W into the station adds 1,000Wh before downstream losses and live loads. A solar-equipped parked setup depends on available sunlight and system limits instead; do not apply the headline combined rate to either scenario automatically.

Review finding to check before ordering: The Solar Lab reported that two units tested in Canada would not exceed roughly 500W alternator output and would not accept the proposed update. The reviewer could not establish the regional cause. This is not evidence that every US unit has the issue; ask BLUETTI to confirm current firmware availability and expected performance for your setup.

The Solar Lab liked the concept but could not recommend its test units because of the unresolved charging/update issue. Before you choose
Does the 1,200W rating mean 1,200W from the alternator alone?
No. The manufacturer lists an 800W alternator ceiling and a 600W solar ceiling, with total output capped at 1,200W. Your actual rate can be lower and depends on the complete installation and receiving station.
