Why this panel
High-output folding panel.
SORA 500 puts 500W of rated solar collection into a folding format. BLUETTI specifies N-type monocrystalline cells, an ETFE surface and IP67 resistance. It is a promising option when daily energy replenishment matters and storage space is limited.
Where will you use the panel?
Think through storage and daily deployment together. A compact fold helps inside a van or closet; setting up a large panel, keeping it oriented and packing it again remain part of the trip. Compare the 350W option if easier handling would make you more likely to deploy it consistently.
Estimate solar production
How much energy could it collect?
At four peak-sun-equivalent hours and an illustrative 70% delivered-energy allowance, 500W gives a 1,400Wh daily planning estimate. That is meaningful against a 1kWh daily load budget, but is not a promise to refill any particular station in one afternoon.
Estimate = selected rated watts × peak-sun-equivalent hours × delivered-energy allowance. The default 70% is an illustrative system allowance, not measured performance or cell conversion efficiency. Peak-sun hours mean an equivalent amount of full-strength sunshine, not hours between sunrise and sunset. This is not a weather forecast or compatibility check.
Selected panel quantity: One 500W panel. Shade, heat, cable losses, charge-controller limits and battery charge acceptance can reduce energy collected. Loads running during charging reduce net stored energy.
Product specifications
Check the label before connecting.
| Rated power | 500W per panel |
|---|---|
| Cell technology | N-type monocrystalline; manufacturer claims up to 25% efficiency |
| Surface | ETFE coating |
| Connection | MC4-style solar connection; station cable may be separate |
| Weather rating | IP67 as listed by BLUETTI; follow connector and exposure instructions |
What to check before buying
Do not choose this solely because your station lists a 500W or greater solar limit. Confirm allowable voltage, current, connectors and the complete array arrangement using the exact US manual. An adapter changes a connection, not the electrical limits.
Check voltage, current and connectors
Check panel open-circuit voltage, operating voltage and current, the receiving input’s limits, connector polarity and required cables. For multiple panels, verify the complete array. Cold conditions can raise open-circuit voltage; do not design to a voltage maximum without the required correction and margin.

What independent reviewers found
The Verge found strong output and compact storage in its European SORA 500 test, but noted awkward setup and repositioning. It is a useful handling perspective; its sample, conditions and regional offer do not establish performance for your purchase.

Before you choose
Will a 500W panel deliver 500W all day?
No. Nameplate output is a test-condition rating. Sun angle, shade, temperature, placement and the receiving system change actual output. Use a daily energy budget and real observations.
Can the panel power household AC appliances by itself?
A solar panel supplies variable DC power. Household AC equipment needs a suitable compatible battery/inverter or other approved system. A panel alone is not a household backup station.
