Collect floating leaves and debris

Solar pool skimmers

Compare pool shape, surface coverage, basket access, obstacle handling, operating modes, and the manufacturer’s pool compatibility. A surface skimmer has a different job from a floor-cleaning robot. Check exactly which surfaces the product cleans and how it recharges.

Keep more warmth in the water

Solar pool heating & covers

Solar thermal collectors circulate pool water through equipment heated by the sun. Solar covers help reduce evaporation and retain heat. Neither is the same as photovoltaic panels producing electricity. Compare pool dimensions, climate, shade, plumbing, mounting, and how you will handle the cover. A solar bubble cover is not a safety cover.

Add movement to a small water feature

Fountains & birdbaths

Check basin depth, pump submersion requirements, spray height, water loss, cleaning access, and panel placement. For evening operation, look for a documented battery-backed configuration. Direct-sun models should not be assumed to run after sunset.

Match the pump to the water feature

Pond pumps & circulation

Compare the required flow at the actual vertical lift and pipe resistance. Check whether filtration or aeration is part of the system or a separate purchase. Decorative circulation alone does not establish that a setup can support fish or maintain water quality.

Move stored water to the garden

Irrigation & rain-barrel pumps

Identify the source, water level, required pressure, lift, tubing, and daily watering needs. A small drip kit and a pump serving a larger irrigation zone are different purchases. Include filtration, suitable controls, and any necessary pressure regulation.
